They are totally different programs and function totally different. DO NOT attempt to use Inventor like you used Sketchup. Take the time to learn how Inventor works just as you did with sketchup. Sketchup is so different (read vastly inferior) from Inventor I feel your frustration as I once tried to use Sketchup having used Inventor for so long. If anyone has used the tape measure tool in sketchup, the functionality of that is what I'm looking for or something that accomplishes the same.
